I am constantly worrying about things that are outside of my control. I will even think about future scenarios and get stressed. Stoicism addresses this problem by saying you should only worry about things within your control. They believed that the world around us is shaped by our perceptions, which we can control and change. Thoughts and beliefs shape our world so worrying about external things outside of our control will not help. Controlling how you view events that happen will help your overall well-being. Change in our lives is an absolute certainty so we need to have our minds prepared so we are not at the mercy of whether the change is good or bad for us. Do not get hung up defining good or bad events, navigate through them and use your mind to control how your well-being is affected.
