Run, lift, rest, and repeat should be the story of our fitness. The real question is in what order should you do this and how much rest is needed. Heavy lifting and an intense day of running should never be on the same day. Your body needs longer to recover from lifting weights than running. If you lift, delay your fast runs for 1 to 2 days if you want to run and lift on the same day run in the morning and lift in the afternoon. The definition of a fast run is any run over 150 Beats per minute and a slow run is 145 and below beats per minute. The common trend I see at the gym is people being unable to run SLOW! Swallow your ego and do it!
